Costume Contests
Calling Masquerade Junkies
Halloween and masquerade enthusiasts should begin planning costume ideas now. The competition is going to be fabulous! "Sometimes fabulousness isn't easy," offers Carmen Owens, Highball co-chair and co-owner of Surly Girl Saloon. "In fact, it can be downright difficult. I admire the people who decide to invest the effort because they live for the fabulous moments. They invest their art and soul into a project because they want to create an experience for themselves and for all those around them." That artistic drive is at the heart of HighBall and the HighBall Costume Contests. Thousands of dollars in cash and prizes will be awarded to contestants in four categories: Best Tag Team (for teams of 2 or more people),  Best King and Queen (Drag, that is), Best Celebrity Look-a-like and Most Artistically creative. Contestants will register at the HighBall check-in station, on the east side of the HighBall Costume Runway, the night of the event.
