Volunteer Opportunities
Calling Enthusiastic Volunteers
If you enjoy creating an awesome experience and sharing it with your city, then you've got the first ingredient to be a volunteer for HighBall Halloween. If you have some hours to help behind the scenes by serving on committees or by setting up the day of the event, then you have the second ingredient.

What is HighBall?
The HighBall is a cross between Carnivale and Mardi Gras with a pinch of Halloween and a healthy splash of the Short North's artistic spirit. The evening's festivities will include Outrageous Costume Contests (all entries are welcome!), a Couture Costume Fashion Showdown for fashion professionals, the Dogtober Howloween Procession for costume-crazed pet owners, live bands, the city's hottest DJs, and $5,000 in prizes!

Volunteer Opportunities
Please select the top three areas you would like to work in. If you don't have a preference, please mark that you would be willing to help in any way.
Tasks to be done during the weeks leading up to the event include:
Logistics/infrastructure: obtaining permits, ordinance signatures, etc...
Liaisons: stilt walkers, jugglers, bands, DJs, characters
Short North business liaisons: distributing information and supplies, sharing news of the event
Public relations; media contact, poster/postcard distribution, editorial snippets
Sponsor recruitment and relations
Fashion Designer and model recruitment for the Costume Couture Fashion Showdown
Recruitment: lots of positions, lots of recruitment and coordination opportunities!
I can help in any way

Day-of-the-event volunteer opportunities include:
Decor set-up: assistance with everything from tables and chairs to balloons and props
Decor take-down: assistance with everything from tables and chairs to balloons and props
Event ambassadors: costumed characters welcoming people and distributing information
Concessions operation: checking I.D.s, selling water, soda, beer, etc...
Gate monitors: making sure no alcohol leaves the grounds
Anti-debris coordinators: assist with trash pick up
Costume contest assistants: organizing event participants, identification of contestants, etc...
Volunteer assistance: staffing volunteer check-in, making sure all positions are covered
Models for fashion show: assist fashion coordinators

Hannah Adkins and Morgan Baughman are the volunteer coordinators for this event.
